Meet the Candidates Oct. 1, 2025 7 pm – 9pm at the Bittern Lake Hall!

Voter Eligibility: You may vote if you are 18 years of age or older, a Canadian citizen, and reside in the Village of Bittern Lake on Election Day.

Identification Needed to Vote:

To vote in the Village of Bittern Lake municipal election, you must present one piece of government-issued identification that shows both your name and your current residential address.

Examples:

  • Alberta Driver’s License
  • Alberta Identification Card
  • Government-issued photo ID with address
  • Utility bill or bank statement with your name and address (along with another piece of ID)         

    NEW—Vouching Rules

    The province has introduced a significant change to the vouching rules. An individual vouching is now only allowed to validate another person’s address, not their identity. Due to this change, all voters require valid identification, otherwise it is not possible for a person to vote.
