Credit Card Payment

The Village of Bittern Lake is soon going to accept credit card payments using OptionPay – a third party software provider. For a small fee, OptionPay provides residents with another convenient method of payment for water bills, gas bills, taxes, development fees and more. OptionPay uses a tiered fee schedule to collect a load fee on each transaction. Click here for the full tiered fee schedule.

By selecting the correct payment type from the drop-down menu (once you are in the OptionPay website), and following the step by step instructions below, the Village can ensure proper processing of your online credit card payment.

Payments can be made for:

  • Permits
  • Tax Payments
  • Utilities
  • Tickets/ Fines
  • Pet Licenses
  • Other Receivable Invoices

OptionPay uses a tiered fee schedule with a minimum fee of $2.00.

Utilities

To pay a utility bill you will need the account number. This can be found in a couple locations on your utility bill.

Tax Payments

When entering your payment information for taxes you’ll be asked for the roll number. This can be found in two spots on your tax notice.

Tickets / Fines

This is for municipal tickets and fines ONLY. This does NOT apply to photo enforcement or Provincial tickets. See the back of those tickets for information on how they can be processed.

For municipal tickets, please include the ticket number in the location provided.

Refunds / Cancellations

Please be advised that the Village of Bittern Lake does not provide refunds or process cancellations for transactions made using OptionPay. Once you have consented to processing your credit card payment and remitted the associated fee, the charge is irreversible.
